City of Ocala proposes new grant programs to strengthen neighborhood

The city of Ocala is set to review a potential grant program for the neighborhood of Marion Heights.

Officially titled the Imagine North Magnolia Residential Facade and Property Improvement Grant, the grant is calculated to motivate homeowners within the Marion Heights neighborhood to pretty up the exteriors of their houses. Single-family homeowners would be allowed to apply for a $10,000 grant, of which the city would pay 75%.

The Jockey Club property, which is located at 8720 W. County Road 318 in Reddick, features just shy of a thousand acres of land, and is billed as boasting a "rich history in hosting top equestrian events." The World Equestrian Center buying the Jockey Club has also spawned a new official name for the property: The World Equestrian Jockey Club.
