Ocala just received county approval on Tuesday to create a Community Redevelopment Area, or CRA, which will focus on improving the corridors between I-75 and downtown on US 27, State Road 40 and State Road 200.
In addition to bettering the city, efforts are hoping to significantly improve the first impression of the city when exiting off of I-75.
The plan is aimed at keeping tax dollars in those areas to create programs that will attract businesses and jobs, as well as to fund beautification projects.
