Cable TV show films in Marion

A national cable TV program, “Best of America by Horseback," had their cast and crew camp out in Southwest Marion County this past weekend, to film a feature on the horse trails on the Cross Florida Greenway.

The Cross Florida Greenway Equestrians are a non-profit group that has developed and maintains these recreational horse trails, and they are hoping the TV feature will bring more riders to the trails and encourage maintenance efforts.

The group desperately needs more volunteers, and hopefully the show will bring nationwide interest in the trails, as well as local volunteers.

The show was filmed at the Shangri-La Trailhead park and campground, and will air on February 25 at 2pm on the RFD-TV cable channel.
